Assignment #6 - Work in Progress

So I took images of my friend who is a dancer...I was kind of trying to make it look like she was on a stage in everyday places. If you could tell me what images you think are working and for the ones on the street, whether you like them in color or black and white. Thanks!

  1. Images 3,4, and 5 are really great they look cinematic. This entire set is great the shapes her bodies make are very interesting. Great way to capture a moment in time.

  2. I really like the sense of movement that you capture in these. Also the scale is very interesting, she seems so small against the amount of landscape/background you decided to include. I like that!

I think for the ones on the street, I like the black and white better, because there is more contrast and it is easier to focus on the details.

I really like the ones of her on the bridge and of her in front of the building with the strong light right above her. The ones of her in the dark really emphasize her shape and posture if that is what you are going for, but it is kind of hard to tell where she is/recognize it as an everyday place.

  3. i really like these... in particular, I like images 2,3, and 4... Also, the first picture of her on a bridge is amazing! I love the hand placement with the light in the background. what if you took some pictures of her dancing in more abandoned places with interesting light... like a parking structure..

  4. I really like the ones where she looks like she's in a parking garage (images 3,4,& 5). I think the lighting is really working and they seem more dramatic to me than the other pictures.

  5. I think the most successful pictures are the ones where she is in the dark and there are very minimal colors and the shadows are emphaisized. I like all of the pics and I think it is a good idea to keep going with.
